Environmental Goals and Climate Change Reduction Act – Annual Progress Reporting

The Environmental Goals and Climate Change Reduction Act (PDF) was passed in the Nova Scotia Legislature in October 2021. It is the Province’s commitment to build a sustainable future, and a healthier, more equitable quality of life for Nova Scotians. It contains 28 goals that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, grow the green and circular economies, improve the health and sustainability of Nova Scotia’s environment, and move us to clean and renewable energy.

The Act requires the Minister of Environment and Climate Change to report annually to the House of Assembly on the progress made towards the goals.

Progress Reports highlight the work and accomplishments across the government and various sectors.
